Fall Sports Update
Prep varsity teams in cross country, football and tennis are either finishing or about to finish their seasons, adding to the storied history of Junior Jay athletics.
The cross country team heads to the state meet this Friday in Kearney after winning the District A-1 championship a week ago and the Metro Conference title the previous week. Special congratulations go to Dennis Chapman who won the individual championship at the district meet. In addition, all Prep runners won individual medals for finishing in the top 14, including Dennis Chapman (first), Eli Jones (third), Jacob Finney (fourth), Aidan McGarry (eighth), Andrew Sauer (ninth), Michael Sauer (13th) and Owen Jensen (14th).
This Friday, the football team caps a competitive season at Benson with a kickoff starting at 7 p.m. Among the season highlights to date are victories over Millard North, Burke and Central, Be sure to attend and cheer on the guys to another win!
The Metro Conference champion tennis team concluded a great season with a second place finish at state last week. Highlights there included a second place finish for Ben Clausen and Matt McGill at No. 2 Doubles, third place medals for Alex Liu at No. 1 singles and the No. 1 Doubles team of Jack Dombrowski and Rowan Lunning, plus a fourth place by Blake Gocken at No. 2 Singles.
