Hello, Class of 2027 Students and Parents:

Can you believe that the official start of your four-year journey through Prep begins next week? To help make your start as smooth as possible, your fun and lively Admissions & Recruitment team has prepared a list of important details below to keep in mind for today, this week and next week.

If you have any questions after reviewing them, let us know. We also encourage you to reach out to our colleagues in student support services, the student's counselor or a member of our high school office for answers, too.

In addition, we would like to remind parents to complete the action items noted in last Friday's 2023 Back to School To-Do List email from Mr. Ryberg, our academic principal. 

Finally, thank you for allowing us to be your shepherds to Prep and please say hello when you're on campus!

DATES TO REMEMBER

 

MONDAY, AUGUST 7 (TODAY!)

Freshman Football Practice - 2:30-5:30 p.m.

  • 2:30 p.m. - Team meeting. Enter the Sullivan Center (west) entrance and head to the locker room.
  • 3-5:30 p.m. - Practice, helmets only
  • More information will be given to players at practice today, such as information on this Saturday's scrimmage.
  • There is also football meeting this evening at 6:30 p.m. for 10th-12th graders, so freshman parents need not attend.

Cross Country Practice - 2-4:45 p.m.

  • Team Meeting. Enter the Sullivan Center (west) entrance and head to the Criss Auditorium.

Tennis Try-Outs - 3:30 p.m.

  • Try-outs begin at Koch Tennis Center (12440 W Maple Rd, Omaha, NE 68164)

 

FRIDAY, AUGUST 11

Welcome Dance (all students) - 6-9 p.m.

  • Jersey theme (optional, any sport jerseys!)
  • Use the northeast or east entrance to get to the Heider Center.
  • Get your $5 tickets on the Creighton Prep Jr. Jays app or on Instagram.
  • The Creighton Prep Jr. Jays app is available on the App Store for Apple users and on Google Play for Android users.

 

SUNDAY, AUGUST 13

New Families Mass & Orientation - 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

  • Incoming freshman and transfer student families are invited to campus to kick off the school year and celebrate Mass as a community.
  • Students and families will enjoy lunch and socialize before hearing from Creighton Prep administrators.
  • Plus, our Jay Mart spirit store will be open on this day! 
  • Casual dress.
  • R.S.V.P. for this event.

 

MONDAY, AUGUST 14

Freshman First Day - 10:15 a.m.-2:45 p.m. (arrive 10 a.m. or earlier)

  • Lunch will be provided.
  • School photos will be taken (regular dress code).
  • If interested in purchasing school photos, your order must be placed by 11:59 p.m. that day.
  • Freshmen should arrive with their fully-charged iPad, something to write on and a pen. They will receive more information from their teachers on the school supplies and books needed.
  • Heider Center (east) entrance

 

TUESDAY, AUGUST 15

First Day of School for All Students - 8 a.m.-2:45 p.m.

 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 23

Curriculum Night - 5:30-7:25 p.m.

  • Parents/Guardians can walk their son's schedule, meet faculty members and ask questions about the 2023-2024 school year.

 

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22

Freshman Ignite Retreat - 6:30-10:30 p.m.

  • More information to come

THE SUMMER READING BOOK

Make sure you have your summer reading book "This Is Not the Jess Show" by Anna Carey. You'll want to have it finished by the first day of school. Click here for the reading guide, created by our English teachers. If you still need a copy, contact Josh or Aurora.

 

CLASS OF 2027 YARD SIGNS

Our 2027 yard signs were handed out at the Welcome Event in April. If you have note received one (or want another one!), we still have them available. Stop by the high school office any time during business hours and ask for one! See the design above.

Feel free to email us or let us know you want one, so we can set one aside.
