Cheers to the Class of 2026!

Cheers to the Class of 2026!

Members of the class of 2026 graduated from Creighton Prep on Sunday, May 17, 2026 during the school’s 147th commencement ceremony in the Heider Center.

The ceremony began with salutatorian John Paul Louis Uptmor ’26 welcoming guests and serving as master of ceremonies. Then, the chamber choir performed the national anthem, and Fr. Bob Tillman, SJ, offered the opening prayer.

In her introductory remarks, Head of School Jacquelyn Schulte congratulated the seniors on reaching “a major milestone” in their lives. She also thanked parents for choosing Creighton Prep and for entrusting the school with their sons over the past four years.

Members of the class of 1976 were also recognized with jubilarian diplomas before valedictorian Hamzah Fadi Alsaleem ’26 delivered the commencement address. In his address, he thanked the administration, faculty and staff, and the broader Prep community for their support of the class of 2026 and encouraged his classmates to “create and treat the world as our canvas.”

Several awards were presented during the ceremony. Creighton Prep President Fr. Matt Spotts, SJ, presented the Henry L. Sullivan, SJ Award to Jacob Feuerbach ’26, the school’s highest honor for a senior who exemplifies the characteristics of the Graduate at Graduation. In presenting the award, Fr. Spotts noted that Jacob is “intentional; he rarely does things halfway, and throws himself into whatever he is doing. He is one of the best of his class.”

Fr. Spotts also presented the Jesuit Schools Network Award to Samuel Clatterbuck ’26. The award recognizes a senior who reflects the shared values of Jesuit schools: being open to growth, intellectually competent, religious, loving and committed to doing justice.

Prep’s Academic Principal Mr. Joe Ryberg also presented the Michael Hindelang, SJ Award for Teaching Excellence to science teacher Mr. Thomas Fyfe. Like the award’s namesake, Mr. Ryberg noted that Mr. Fyfe “seeks God in all things, who manifests conscience, competence and compassion in deed and word, and who cares deeply for everyone in our community and is always looking for new and exciting ways to help Prep’s students.”

The ceremony concluded with Fr. Spotts presenting diplomas to each graduate before leading those gathered in a closing prayer.
