Graduation 2025
Dear Senior Parents,
Congratulations again on your son’s remarkable accomplishments. Four years of dedication to academics and involvement in extracurriculars is no small feat — and it wouldn’t have been possible without your support and guidance along the way.
We know this is a busy and exciting time for families, and with graduation fast approaching, we wanted to share a few important details to help you plan and prepare for the celebration.
GRADUATION PRACTICE - please note time change
Graduation practice is mandatory for all graduates. Please note that the time for this has changed. It will now be held from 9-10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16 in the Heider Center. The regular school dress code is in effect for graduation practice.
cap/gown pickup & graduation tickets distribution
Caps and gowns will be picked up immediately following practice. All fines, outstanding obligations and disciplinary responsibilities must be resolved for your son to receive his cap and gown.
Each family will receive 10 tickets for the graduation ceremony. Everyone entering (including those needing ADA seating) must have a ticket. Graduates do not need tickets. Tickets will be distributed with caps and gowns on Friday, May 16. If your family will not use all tickets, please return extras to the box office outside the Heider Center starting at 9 a.m. the morning of graduation.
If you would like extra tickets for the graduation ceremony, we encourage you to ask other senior parents if they have any tickets that they are not planning to use from their 10-ticket allotment and if they would make those available to you. You can also stop by the box office outside the Heider Center starting at 9 a.m. the morning of graduation to see if they have extras.
BACCALAUREATE MASS
Baccalaureate Mass will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 at St. John’s Church on the Creighton University campus. Due to space limitations, only seniors and their parents are invited to attend. Seniors should sit with their parents and dress in Prep’s formal dress code (suit coat or jacket optional).
GRADUATION CEREMONY
The graduation ceremony will take place in the Heider Center on Sunday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m. Seniors should arrive by 9:15 a.m. in formal dress code with cap and gown. The Heider Center and Sullivan Center doors will be open.
The graduation ceremony will be broadcast live here:

LEGACY NAMES AND PRONUNCIATIONS
Parents, please complete the Graduation 2025 - Request for Information form with your son to ensure his name is read correctly and that any legacy connections (fathers, grandfathers or great-grandfathers who graduated from Prep) are acknowledged. Be sure to review the form together before submitting.
BEHAVIOR AND DRESS AT GRADUATION
Graduation is a dignified celebration. Raucous behavior is an embarrassment to parents, friends, jubilarians, alumni, faculty and, mostly, to those who behave in this manner. Any student who disrupts the ceremony may be removed and his diploma may be withheld. Let’s celebrate in a way that reflects our mission and values.
Formal dress is required for the baccalaureate Mass and graduation ceremony. This includes a formal men’s shirt and tie, dress pants, dress socks and dress shoes. A suit coat or jacket is not recommended for graduation because it gets bulky and warm under the graduation gown.
FINAL TRANSCRIPT
Final official transcripts will be electronically submitted to the one school your son has decided to attend. Once students complete the enrollment deposit for this school, please log in to Scoir, select the college and indicate they are “enrolling.” The school listed as “enrolling” in Scoir will be the school receiving the final official transcript. Transcripts will be submitted by the first part of June.
YEARBOOK PICKUP
Yearbooks for the Class of 2025 will be available on Monday, August 11 from 8:30–11:30 a.m. in the Mullen Gym.
ABSENTEEISM, DISRUPTIONS, OUTSTANDING OBLIGATIONS
Students with excessive absences may not be allowed to take final exams unless extenuating circumstances are documented. Seniors must resolve all fines, debts, and disciplinary obligations in order to receive their cap and gown. Contact Mr. John Jenkins at jjenkins@creightonprep.org with questions.
Senior leadership is very important to school culture. Disruptive behavior at the end of the school year may result in the postponement of final exams and prolonging the school year. Students involved in any end of the year disruption may forfeit their participation in the graduation ceremony and receive other appropriate consequences up to and including dismissal. School administration will exercise its discretion to use legal recourse for disruptions that occur after graduation. Specifically, seniors should avoid disruptions in daily school routines and the educational process, avoid actions that violate the human dignity of any person and avoid conduct detrimental to the reputation or mission of the school.
