Dear Friend of Creighton Prep,

I am excited to announce that the Heider family has made a historic $10 million gift to Creighton Preparatory School in order to establish and endow Loyola Scholars: The Heider Academic & Leadership Achievement Program.

The Heiders’ groundbreaking gift, the largest in Prep’s history, will ensure that future generations of young men will continue to receive the best high school education in Omaha.

I am profoundly grateful to the Heiders for their remarkable generosity and philanthropic leadership. Mary, Mark ’73, Scott ‘81 and Cindy are truly men and women for others. Their commitment to giving back, to Jesuit education and to building community has set a new standard not just here at Prep but far beyond.

“My brother Mark and I had great experiences at Prep, with relationships and life lessons that last to this day,” said Scott recently. “We’re honored to be in a position to make a difference through the Loyola Scholars program that will welcome new students to the Prep family and introduce them to Jesuit values and ideals.”

Please join me in thanking the Heiders for this inspiring gift. I also ask for your prayers and support for the faculty, staff and students at Prep as we begin developing a Loyola Scholars program that will become a thriving center of hope for academically talented 6th-to-8th-grade males in the Omaha area who have leadership potential and come from families with significant financial need.

You can learn more about the program here. You can also read the article that is featured in the Omaha World-Herald here.

In Christ,

Fr. Tom Neitzke, SJ
